Hey there, I'm Kim!

 

I'm a Personal Trainer and a Mom of two little boys who keep me on my toes 24/7. I know firsthand what it’s like to juggle work, mommin’ and oh yeah, trying to stay fit. After my second son was born I was exhausted, depressed and couldn't stop crying. My battery was dead and my days were pretty dark. 

 

It took time but I slowly pulled myself out of the darkness the only way I knew how.  I put myself back on the list again.  I created short "nap time" workouts 4-5 times a week and started eating real food that gave me energy and boosted my mood.

 

Yes I lost the 35 lbs of baby weight but more importantly, I started to feel like myself again. I'm not going to tell you that it happened overnight. It was a process (and still is!) but I'm happy and healthy  and feel like I'm shining my bright light in this world.

Now it’s my mission to help other burnt out, exhausted women do the same thing. I created the Fit in 6 Challenge to help you not only get fit and strong, but it will also help you feel like YOU again!

Frequently asked questions

I don’t have access to a gym. Will this work for me?


Absolutely! You don't need access to a gym to do these workouts. In fact, I have designed them specifically to be done in your own home with minimal equipment to make it easier to fit into a busy Mom's life.




How many times a week do I need to work out on your program?


There are 3 main full body/core workouts each week that are the "bread and butter" of the program. There are also 2 "bonus" cardio workouts each week that are optional. Some women choose to do all 5 and others do 3-4 depending on their schedules. I designed it this way to give the program the flexibility that a busy mama life requires. I've also included 2 bonus Core workouts and a stretching routine that you can add in to your routine at any time.




How long are the workouts?


Each workout in the Fit in 6 Challenge is between 30-35 minutes to make it simple to fit into your busy life. They are meant to be short and sweet so you can get in, get out and get on with your day!




What type of equipment do I need?


All the workouts can be completed at home and require very minimal equipment. These can be purchased at most big box stores or Specialty Fitness stores or even secondhand online. Here's what you need: Dumbbells (I recommend a range from 5-25lbs but this varies with each individual…don’t stress if you don’t have it all. Powerblocks are a great tool since they include a large range of weights all in one small package. No weight rack needed Stability ball Here's a quick guide to purchasing the right one based on your height Exercise ball diameter/ Person's height 55 cm 5'1"– 5'8" 65 cm 5'9"– 6'2" 75 cm 6'3"– 6'7" 85 cm 6'8" and taller Resistance bands I recommend getting ones with handles since they're easier to work with. It's also best if you can have 1 light resistance band and one heavy. That way you can increase or decrease the resistance as you need it.




I haven't worked out in a long time. Is this program Ok for me to start?


Welcome back to exercise and YES of course! The workouts are all full length videos where I'm working out right along side you, coaching you, motivating you AND cueing your form and techniques. I provide modifications AND advanced options for all exercises so that it can fit all levels. You can start off with the beginner options and advance as your body gets stronger (and it will!!) If you've been off exercise for a while, the key is just getting off the couch and getting started. It doesn't have to be perfect but you will see amazing progress when you get that body in motion!




What if I need to move my workouts to a different day?


I am so glad you asked! The workouts can and SHOULD be moved around to accommodate your schedule. For example, if you know you can't do Wednesday's workout but you can do it on Saturday, feel free to adjust the schedule. The calendar feature of the My Fit Coach app allows you to seamlessly move your workouts to fit your personal schedule. I believe a fitness plan needs to be somewhat flexible to fit YOUR life!




Do I have to count calories or macros?


Nope you don't! The meal plan is based on eating as much real, nutrient dense food as possible and minimizing processed foods. And because you're human...I'm also going to teach you how to enjoy some indulgences from time to time...because food shouldn't make you sad!
When you're eating food that your body knows how to digest in the proper portion sizes there is no need to worry about numbers. I'll also teach you about macronutrients (carbs, protein and fat) AND teach you about proper portion sizes but I like to keep it really simple. Food does NOT need to be a science experiment!




Do I have to follow the meal plan?


Not if you don't want to. I've created this meal plan to maximize your results and give you all the nutrients your body needs. However I also understand that food tastes and preferences vary. I will teach you strategies throughout the program on how to plan and create your OWN meals and snacks, using the meal plan as guideline. It's NOT a hard and fast rule. My goal as your coach is to educate you on how food can help us feel and look our best AND to make it work in YOUR life.




I will be away for some of the program. Can I still join?


Absolutely! Life doesn't stop because you've joined the challenge. You'll receive a travel ready resistance band workout that you can take on the road with you while your'e away. Just because you're travelling doesn't mean you can't get a great workout and stay on track!

How are the workouts delivered to me?


When you join the Fit in 6 Challenge, you'll receive your very own My Fit Coach app (powered by Trainerize) to help you view and track your workouts and progress Each day you'll receive your workout video of the day via the app. The workouts are full length videos where I am working out right along with you, coaching you and keeping you motivated. Once you've completed your workout of the day, simply check it off in the app to let me know you've finished it. Super simple and kind of fun too!




I have a few food intolerances. Can the meal plan work for me?


For sure! The meal plan includes lots of recommendations on how to alter recipes to make them gluten free, dairy free or even vegetarian. While this is NOT a vegetarian/Vegan meal plan, in my experiece there are enough recipes to choose from to make this fit your life. Plus you'll receive a Nutrition 101 package that will teach you how to create a balanced meal or snack no matter what your food preferences are.




What if I try Fit in 6 and I'm not satisfied?


It is my goal to provide you with the best level of products and service. I am confident that when you follow the workout and nutrition advice in the Fit in 6 Challenge that you WILL see and feel amazing results. However if you're not completely satisfied after 30 days, you can ask for your money back...no questions asked.
